What will happen if you stop listening to internet advice

If there’s one thing I’ve been talking to my friends about recently, it’s this: What happens when someone does the opposite of what is “accepted” or “normal”.

*Disclaimer: This insight I’m going to talk about in this blog is mostly geared towards individuals who have already begun doing self therapy and healing. Without an understanding of who you are and what makes you take the actions you take, this perspective won’t be very successful*

Okay, now that I’ve said that, let’s go.

Everyone is finding advice on how to protect themselves, essentially. How not to get played by the opposite sex, how to be the “it lux girl”. And I’m so for ladies being the best version of themselves, that’s the whole purpose of The Power She Holds. But the advice online…it’s protection, protection from..let’s use the word interesting…this interesting world. But the advice can come off a bit one-sided. And not only is it one-sided, it can also make you tear yourself down when you fail to follow it perfectly.

“Omg, I'm such a pick me girl since I did xyz..”. By not following the advice online it can make you feel unaccepted, and then you lose the truth behind who you are because you’re trying so hard to fit the identity of the high value woman. And while the advice online isn’t meant to bring you harm..advice in general isn’t. It’s meant to do the complete opposite, but what it also does if it’s not taken with a grain of salt is take away your voice, ideas and intuition. It also takes away your growth.

So I want this blog to be a space where we begin to normalize the ugly moments. The moments we sent that third text without any response, the moment we took the Spirit flight instead of first class (p.s. Spirit and Frontier can kiss my ass) lol. But, yes, let’s get back to following our guts and making the mistake. Being honest with who we are. That moment is the moment where you GROW. That’s the moment where you will become the true lux girl you are. Because you actually understand personally why you should continue to poor into yourself in whatever area you fell short in. It won’t be a facade anymore, it will be the real you.

Cheers to doing the opposite of what’s accepted and normal.
